Reporting to the Construction Director, the Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing all on-site activities related construction projects. They will play a key role in ensuring that construction activities adhere to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and project timelines within the nuclear industry. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of nuclear construction processes, and the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse project teams to achieve project objectives while maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality. This position is within GTA What you’ll be working on Oversee all aspects of site operations for major nuclear construction projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, specifications, and budget constraints. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the on-site project team, including construction managers, supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors. Develop and implement site-specific plans, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and safe project execution. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams, to ensure alignment of project goals and objectives. Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors, to optimize project performance and productivity. Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions and contingency plans as necessary to minimize project impacts. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess work progress, quality, and safety performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices. Provide regular progress updates and reports to project leadership and stakeholders, communicating project status, milestones, and challenges effectively. Lead and facilitate project meetings, including kick-off meetings, progress meetings, and safety meetings, to ensure effective communication and collaboration among project team members. Mentor, coach, and develop site personnel, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance their skills and capabilities. Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence in all aspects of site management and project delivery. Manage performance and conduct regular performance reviews for site team members, recognizing achievements and addressing performance issues promptly and effectively. Promote continuous improvement and innovation in site operations, encouraging proactive problem-solving and creative solutions to project challenges. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders regarding site-related matters, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention. What we are looking for Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale construction projects in the nuclear sector. Extensive knowledge of nuclear construction processes, regulations, and best practices, with a proven track record of successful project delivery. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project goals and objectives. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interface with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels. Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions to complex challenges. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
