Job Description

Under the direction of the Director, IT Services, the Systems Administrator is responsible for management and support of productivity suite and communications systems supporting all stakeholders across the business. Ideal candidate will become a trusted expert resource across all systems and productivity platforms in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert in the following domains:
  • Provisioning and configuration based on following technologies:
    • Citrix VDI
    • Nutanix virtualization
    • Cloud Telephony and Contact Centre
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Microsoft Intune and Autopilot
    • Full stack FortiNet
    • Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Citrix VDI
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures to protect our systems and data.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless connectivity and maximum availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support IT solutions.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Remain current on emerging security concerns and establish process to manage critical patches, circulate advisories, and advocate and train on proper security practices.
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating documentation for projects and existing systems
  • Configure and manage VPN, QoS, firewall policies and VLANs -Traffic monitoring and analytics such as packet capture analysis.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures, and network related documentation.
  • Research and recommend innovative, preferably automated, approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Create and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, redundancy, and security of network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with MDM and corporate device management.
  • Setup of monitoring tools and playbooks for remediation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 7-10 years of relevant IT experience
  • Knowledge of security fundamentals and governance
  • Experience with hybrid, private and public cloud setups.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity practices and protocols.
  • Knowledge and experience with configuration management tools to assist with infrastructure and application automation.
  • Experience with various telephony/communications systems
  • In-depth knowledge of networking technologies and protocols.
  • Physical network connectors, media, and testing tools
  • Microsoft domain functionality and logging tools
  • Network Flow Analysis tools and protocols
  • Data Center Virtualization and Infrastructure technologies
  • Monitoring solutions – both network and software
  • Excellent systems administration skills including troubleshooting Windows Servers, Linux Servers, patch management, high availability systems, database servers.

Nice-to-Have

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, MCSA) are a plus.

Attributes Required

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator with a focus on server and network management.
  • Proficient with server operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willing and able to adapt to a changing environment, operating at times on the edge of acceptable risk threshold.
  • Deep attention to detail without losing focus of the bigger picture
  • Must provide clear and professional communication in all stakeholder interactions, prioritize work effectively and pursue issues through to successful resolution.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in troubleshooting and researching solutions independently
  • Take responsibility for seeing assignments through to completion and ensuring stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Maintain the highest level of fiduciary trust and ethical behavior in executing corporate business
  • Commitment to ongoing enhancement of technical and soft skills.
