Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Start Date: September  Hourly Pay: £12.82 - £15.72   Contract: Full-time   Location: Southampton  GSL Education is hiring Higher Level Teaching Assistants for mainstream Primary Schools based in Southampton. As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will be working within the class to support the class teachers with their lessons, you will be working alongside a team of support staff in the class. Previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential.      As the HLTA, you will be expected to:    • Have excellent team spirit and good behaviour management skills    • Be passionate about teaching and have a strong command of the curriculum    • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years   • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education   What We’re Looking For:    • A genuine interest in working with students who have a variety of additional needs.    • Excellent interpersonal skills.    • Good standard of numeracy and literacy.    • Ability to work flexibly and independently.   • Calm under pressure.    • Experience in the classroom would be an advantage.   The ideal applicant will have:    • At least 6 months experience of working with children or in a school    • HLTA Qualification or an Undergraduate degree in Education    • A real passion for education and improving the attainment of pupils    • Bundles of creativity for stimulating and engaging pupils   To work with GSL Education as a Teaching Assistant, you should:    Have the right to work in the UK.    Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.    Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education    Here at GSL Education, we offer competitive pay rates, bespoke service and dedicated Consultants who will support you in securing your new role.
