Job Requirements / Description
Responsibilities: Oversee construction department operations, ensuring efficient project management and team coordination. Develop and execute project scheduling and resource planning strategies. Lead senior executive management tasks, including cost control, quality assurance, timelines, and budgeting. Provide strategic leadership and technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from conception to completion. Act as a strategic partner to the President, contributing to organizational vision, strategy, and planning. Drive strategic planning initiatives, aligning with the company’s vision, mission, and values. Cultivate and maintain relationships with trades, consultants, clients, and staff. Assist with scheduling, costing, and project planning processes. Manage project cash flow and oversee trade/supplier cash flow monthly. Lead employee recruitment, retention, and performance management processes. Skills and Qualifications: Possess 10-20 years of construction management experience, with a focus on senior leadership roles. Hold post-secondary education, with preference for P.Eng (Engineering, Architecture, Construction, etc.). MBA and/or PMP credentials are advantageous. Demonstrate proven leadership abilities and effective team motivation skills. Exhibit strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills. Showcase experience in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Bring extensive commercial construction experience on projects exceeding $40M+. Prioritize project management experience, with an MBA and/or PMP qualifications considered ideal. Display entrepreneurial drive and self-motivation.
