Job Requirements / Description

This position is ideal for someone with health and safety experience or a keen desire for a career within health and safety, coupled with previous administration experience. You will play a critical role in supporting health, safety, environment, and quality (SHEQ) activities, ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities of a Health and Safety Administrator:


  • Capture weekly returns data and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Maintain the SHEQ register, including: Incidents, Red and yellow cards, SHEQ inspection closeouts, Training records, Recording near misses
  • Attend SHEQ prestart meetings and take minutes.
  • Prepare data for board reports.
  • Verify the use of correct documentation.
  • Keep the SHEQ document register up to date.
  • Assist in the creation and development of health and wellbeing topics for the business.
  • Capture sustainability statistics from sites and office, and upload them to the portal.
  • Support the creation and implementation of the sustainability strategy.
  • Contribute to the creation of the monthly newsletter.

Development and Training Opportunities for a Health and Safety Administrator:


  • Assist with inductions.
  • Support the development and implementation of the SHEQ business management system, including reviewing policies and procedures, and delivering training.
  • Aid in the implementation of new SHEQ software, guiding users and setting up new profiles.
  • Conduct SHEQ inspections and CCS inspections.
  • Create fire plan drawings for sites.

Health and Safety Administrator Essential Requirements:


  • A strong desire to pursue a career in health and safety.
  • Good reading, writing, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva.

Health and Safety Administrator Desirable (but not essential):


  • Some health and safety knowledge and experience.
  • IOSH Managing Safety certification.
  • NEBOSH qualification.
