WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Role:

We are seeking an experience Vice President of Quality to develop a global quality vision and strategy and lead us into the next phase of growth. We are looking for someone who is passionate about quality and can help transform our current roadmap. This role will report directly to the CEO, playing a crucial role in shaping both our products and our company's trajectory. The role also offers an exciting opportunity to interface with KKR and Mubadala teams and work directly with these large organizations as CoolIT grows.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive global quality strategy and vision, guaranteeing that products meet all relevant standards and regulations, while also aligning with customer expectations.
  • Spearhead the creation of a comprehensive roadmap for transforming the quality function, encompassing the transition from the current decentralized state to the desired state across organization, talent, processes, and systems.
  • Oversee the expansion of a complete enterprise quality function from start to finish, including the recruitment and mentorship of new and prospective team members as required.
  • Guarantee the integration of Quality throughout the entire product life cycle.
  • Centralize quality at the corporate level, overseeing compliance via a robust Quality Management System (QMS) and offering a comprehensive perspective on operations from a quality standpoint.
  • Oversee global quality teams and budgets, ensuring consistent delivery of all quality functions to achieve optimal effectiveness and efficiency levels.
  • Engage with customers to grasp their needs, thereby enhancing support for sales, and actively contributing to the establishment, execution, and upkeep of customer relationships.
  • Advocate for the customer's perspective on quality at the sector level, comprehending and addressing their needs while ensuring transparency on performance metrics.
  • Ensure that product quality and performance requirements, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), are clearly defined, measured, and met for both overall objectives and specific priority customers.
  • Establish strategic partnerships, defining clear service level expectations, and implementing monitoring mechanisms with suppliers and contract manufacturers to consistently uphold superior quality standards throughout CoolIT's supply and manufacturing chain.

WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience across manufacturing operations and quality.
  • 5 years of experience in leading a quality function within a global, highly engineered manufacturing or contract manufacturing company.
  • Experience leading a team and managing relationships with a broad array of stakeholders: contract manufacturers, suppliers, partners, customers, and senior internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven Lean Six Sigma knowledge, certification, experience.
  • Certification in ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience leading and scaling a quality organization.
  • Demonstrated capability to adapt to various contexts including startup, scale-up, and consolidation phases.
  • Ability to be onsite in Calgary frequently, but open to location flexibility.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across functions and departments.
  • Builder/owner mindset with a willingness to dive in and be hands on.
  • Data-driven with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel up 30% of the time (Asia)
