Willowdale High School is currently hiring a School Principal to lead our well-established school.
About the PositionThe principal leads all aspects of the pedagogical, educational, and administrative management of the school in accordance with the guidelines of the Ontario Ministry of Education and aligned with Willowdale High School's mission, vision and values. The Principal strives to create an inclusive, safe and positive school climate which fosters student and teacher growth. The principal reports to the director of the school.
Minimum Qualifications
Member of Ontario College of Teachers (preferred)
A master’s degree (preferred)
Principal Qualification (preferred)
Minimum of 3 years of successful experience working in a leadership role in a private school in Ontario
Experience with Ontario school inspection process and requirements
Sound understanding of the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum, Growing Success, and Ontario Schools 2016
Strong work ethics (ability to work diligently and faithfully)
Outstanding skills in communicating and collaborating with staff and other school members
Ability and willingness to work in a collaborative environment and accept feedback
Organized, flexible and able to handle multiple responsibilities in a consistent and dependable manner
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Manage the daily safe operation of the school
Perform all duties associated with the school inspection
Actively oversee the OSSD credit courses assigned (delivery of curriculum standards and curriculum expectations in compliance with Ministry requirements, implement the requirements outlined in Growing Success for assessment, evaluation, and reporting)
Provide professional development sessions to staff
Hold staff meetings as required and monitor department meetings for the purpose of providing educational and administrative support and direction
Recruit and select teachers who have the interest and capacity to further the school’s vision and goals
Maintain and direct the maintenance of records and files
Ensure proper registration and transfer of students to and from the school and for the maintenance of up-to-date student records (OSRs).
Develop the school’s timetable schedule
Manage extracurricular activities and services and co-ordinate the participation of all members of the teaching staff in the extracurricular program
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
