Job Description:
Reporting into AVP, Regulatory Management, Enterprise Compliance. You will assist, where required, in managing the relationship with OSFI. Prepare the quarterly Committee and Board reporting on behalf of the Enterprise CCO.
What will you do?
Take the lead by working with the Business Group Chief Compliance Officers (CCOs) to build the quarterly Board report on behalf of the Enterprise Chief Compliance Officer
Identify regulatory themes and trends across the industry and provide a deep analysis for reporting
Review and challenge quarterly reporting from Business Group CCOs to ensure the Board report is complete and accurately reflects the Compliance Risk posture of the organization
Act as a subject matter expert and ‘go to’ person for regulatory themes, trends, areas of focus and developments impacting SLF Canada business operations and the financial services industry
Support interactions between SLF and our lead prudential regulator – OSFI, including but not limited to:
Intake of supervisory communications
Coordinating and drafting responses to OSFI requests for information
Scheduling, attending and documenting meetings between SLF and OSFI
Maintaining a centralized inventory of regulatory interactions to support supervisory exams and inquiries
What do you need to succeed?
Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to work effectively with persons at all levels in the organization
Strong analytical, strategic, and project management skills
Experience working with diverse business lines is an asset
University degree
Minimum of 5+ years in a regulated industry and prior experience with regulatory relationships and reporting to a Board
Proficiency in Tableau, MS Excel Macros, and the development of Power Point decks.
Knowledge of the financial services industry, legislation, and regulatory requirements
Experience with and knowledge about Canadian privacy and data laws and regulators is an asset
Ability to translate regulatory themes, trends, expectations and regulations into business impacts, compliance controls and regulatory risks
