Engineering Technician

Our client is a leading supplier of confocal and super resolution imaging solutions to the global life and material science communities. Over the past twenty-five years the company has established its presence in the market as an innovator, supplying prestigious institutes and pharmaceutical companies with cutting edge imaging solutions. The successful candidate will join a small group of engineers and will become a key member of the team. Their individual responsibilities will include the assembly, alignment, qualification and service of VisiTech International’s Super Resolution imaging systems and to aid in the development of production and process techniques. Hours of work would be 9.00am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday. Main Duties of the Role: * Follow production procedures to assemble, test and qualify imaging systems used in bio-medical and physical science research fields * Conduct on-site installation, service and support activities, to support our global install base, with a maximum of 12 days of travel per quarter with time in lieu given * Provide remote support to company's existing customers * Feedback to engineering on improvements to electrical, electronic, mechanical or optical design to minimize production time for all products * Update procedures where necessary to improve production time * Preparation and maintenance of production documentation Education & Experience * A qualification in engineering, electronics or a science based subject to a minimum of ONC level * Applicants are welcome from a broad base of sectors as full and comprehensive training will be provided * Ability to learn quickly * Good written and verbal communication skills * Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure * Experience in optics would be preferred * Experience in microscopy would be preferred Due to the high volume of candidates responding to our adverts unfortunately we are not always able to provide individual feedback.
