Job Title: Shipping Coordinator Location: Billingham Job Overview: A leading machinery provider is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipping Coordinator to oversee the end-to-end shipping process for their business. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of international shipments, from accurate measurement of machines to ensuring compliance with customs documentation. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods while maintaining relationships with shipping lines, brokers, and freight forwarders. Key Responsibilities: * Manage the entire shipping process from initiation to delivery, ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations and company standards. * Accurately measure and record the dimensions of machinery and equipment for transportation. * Prepare and manage all customs documentation and shipping paperwork, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. * Develop and maintain relationships with shipping lines, brokers, and freight forwarders to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service. * Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and safe delivery of goods. * Monitor shipments, track progress, and provide updates to relevant stakeholders. * Address any shipping-related issues or delays, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. * Negotiate shipping rates and contracts to optimize costs without compromising quality or service. Key Requirements: * Proven experience in shipping or freight forwarding. * Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements. * Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with shipping lines, brokers, and freight forwarders. * Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring a high level of accuracy and efficiency. * Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving shipping issues or delays. * Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
