Purpose: The Supply Chain Planning & Purchasing Specialist is responsible for proactive inventory planning/forecasting, purchasing, and replenishment to each of the North American Duty Free operations. This role collaborates with key inter-departmental stakeholders to drive sales and maintain the automated replenishment system while ensuring optimal inventory levels and quality.Essential Functions:Analyzes and manages SAP’s Forecast & Replenishment (F&R) module including maintaining key parameters to ensure correct quality and quantity of inventory and review system generated order proposals before issuing to suppliersExecutes continuous review, analysis and alignment between Operation’s sales forecasts and F&R’s demand projections, including providing buying forecasts to local vendors as applicableManages purchase orders and PO tracking – tracks all orders into each warehouse and amends POs as required while tracking vendor performance and fill ratesActively participates in the annual budgeting and quarterly distressed inventory exercises as well as ongoing review of actual inventory versus budgetParticipates in all new operations/new stores planning and preparation to ensure opening stock arrives into the local warehouses on time and coordinates with category team(s), Avolta IOS and vendors; flags potential stock challenges, vets order quantities for new brands/product lines and provides status updatesCollaborates with Operations, category and brands for initial stock merchandisingUtilizes Power BI (Dufry Insights) KPI/reporting for proactive inventory management and ensures continuous action plans to exit low performing stocksCollaborates with store Operations teams by monitoring stock levels of key/top sellers, planning stock needs ahead of time based on feedback, communicating issues and recommending solutions to reduce the impact of out-of-stock periodsReviews, updates and maintains store replenishment parameters (Target Stock and Re-Order Point) and revises for special scenarios such as promotions or other sales initiatives; ensures warehouse to store replenishment is per SOPIdentifies product assortment concerns and awareness to regional and global category teams on stock level and quality impact and drives discussions and actions on inventory exit strategies for slow/non-moving/low performing inventory; balances inventory between locations where applicableFacilitates the processing of RTVs/Destructions by coordinating with Operations, Warehouse, and Finance teams as well as external suppliers; ensures stock is properly removed from inventory by using correct process in SAP and providing supporting documentationContributes as required to the on-going success and implementation of digital initiatives such as the Emporium, Reserve & Collect and other loyalty programsWorks closely with local warehouses to ensure accurate lead times (customs clearance and receiving process) are reflected in F&R demand planning systemReporting Relationship: Country Supply Chain Planning and Purchasing ManagerMajor Interdependencies: Global and Regional Category Team, Operations, Finance, Global IOS Supply Chain, DigitalMinimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment: Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 5 years:In a technical role: Requires 3-5 years of Supply Chain and Logistics planning experienceA bachelor’s degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 3 of the 5-year requirementIn the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experienceSpecialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits:Experience using Merchandising/ERP systems – SAP preferredExcellent Excel skills and proficiency in the MS Office suite and Power BI experience an assetBusiness acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of Supply Chain and Logistics planning and to advance the organizations goalsDemonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstancesLocation:Requires regular/hybrid attendance at Toronto Centre of ExcellenceDisclaimer:All job requirements are subject to change to reflect the evolving position requirements or to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
