We are hiring a Procurement Manager who is accountable for the performance, cost efficiency, and quality of assigned direct material categories. This is a unique opportunity to join the Andrew Peller team.

Key responsibilities include development and execution of category strategies, strategic sourcing, contract and price negotiations, strategic vendor management, and value optimization. The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and managing key vendor relationships (including scorecards) as well as managing risk and opportunities to ensure supply security and business continuity for procured materials and services.

In this role you are…

  • Accountable for overall procurement category strategy and project implementation. Lead development of sourcing strategies, RFx’s, vendor negotiations, cost savings and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Ensure supply and service contracts are negotiated in compliance with corporate policy.
  • Responsible for delivering annual cost savings through negotiations, RFQ’s, value optimization and continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop and oversee critical supplier relationships and drive supply issues to resolution. Accountable for maintaining vendor scorecards and metrics.
  • Responsible for standard cost assumptions for assigned categories and proactively drive price variance analysis and reporting in partnership with the cost accounting team.
  • Supports new product and market developments by forging strong partnerships with other functional and business areas to drive commercial and project priorities across the organization
  • Maintain and develop systems data (vendor, item, and price) as it relates to PO’s, spend analysis, and reports
  • Act as the Procurement subject matter expert for assigned categories in the Procure to Pay (P2P) process

You will report to: Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Lead and have 1-2 Buyers directly reporting to you.

  • Supplies 7 plants with multiple production lines
  • Supplies multiple co-manufacturer and sub-assembly production lines
  • Supports 7,000,000 cases of annual production Nationally
  • Manages ~ 1100 Direct sku’s valued at ~ $40,000,000
  • Negotiates with senior vendor executives ranging from $10 million to $5 billion in sales

Work location is hybrid. Most work can be done from home office. Weekly travel to Oakville and Grimsby, Ontario offices as required.

Does this sound like you…

  • 7+ years of Procurement and/or Supply Chain management experience in a consumer packaged goods environment, preferred
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain, strongly preferred
  • Direct Materials Packaging experience (ex. Raw materials and commodities, Primary (Glass, Cans, PET Bottles) and Secondary (Paper and Corrugate) packaging
  • Beverage and Alcohol industry experience and a familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP and standard costing environment are assets
  • Demonstrated success in category strategy development, contract negotiations and implemented cost savings projects
  • Strong business acumen and critical thinking. Process and systems driven with a continuous improvement mindset that challenges the status quo
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and deliver key projects through cross functional collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Oracle, Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicated across all levels of the business
