Our family of 128,000 employees and franchise affiliates share a collective passion for delivering exceptional shopping experiences and amazing food to all our customers.The Power Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and safe consistent operation of the Ammonia/Glycol refrigeration plant and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and monitoring of all life safety, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems within the Retail Support Centre while actively contributing to a positive, productive and safe working environment.Here’s where you’ll be focusing:Responsible for the maintenance and safe, consistent operation of the Ammonia/Glycol Refrigeration Plant and all related systems.Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot and repair life safety systems, including sprinkler systems and piping, sprinkler risers, valve groups, fire pump, fire hoses, extinguishers, fire alarm panel and fire dialer.Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all HVAC and human comfort systems, including RTU’s, unit heaters, lighting, etc.Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all building-related mechanical equipment, including dock plates, overhead doors, rollup doors, pumps, backup generator, motors, fans, plumbing and electrical systems.Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot and repair banana/fruit ripening rooms and related equipment.Maintenance of all tools, parts and equipment used within the RSC, ensuring adequate stock on hand for critical equipment failures.Complete daily logs and preventative maintenance schedules as required.Maintain a safe, clean, professional work environment at all times, utilizing Sobeys 5S Standards.Adhere to all company policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned.What you have to offer:Knowledge and direct working experience in various building systems; boilers, compressors, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, instructions, control sequences with a clear understanding of local codes, regulations and bylaws.Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, AutoCAD, including automated controlled refrigerated systems.Knowledge and direct working experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of banana/fruit ripening rooms.Other related mechanical trades licensing or skills: welding, electrician, millwright, plumber, refrigeration mechanic an asset.Valid 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate and License valid in Province of employment.A minimum of three years Power Engineering experience, with an emphasis on large ammonia/glycol refrigeration systems.We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package, which varies by role and is designed to help our teammates to live better – physically, financially and emotionally.Our Total Rewards programs go well beyond your paycheque:Competitive Benefits Package, tailored to meet your needs, including health and dental coverage, as well as life insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance.Access to Virtual Health Care Platform and Employee and Family Assistance Program.A Retirement and Savings Plan that provides you with the opportunity to build and add value to your savings.A 10% in-store discount at our participating banners and access to a wide range of other discount programs.Learning and Development Resources to fuel your professional growth.Paid Vacation.We are committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process and will work with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of this process. #J-18808-Ljbffr
