Position Summary:

Working as part of the Inside Sales Team and reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, the Applications Engineer will work collaboratively with his/her team to review customer requirements, technical specifications, prepare quotations, and ensure that customer needs are met.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities:

1. Interpreting engineering specifications and selecting equipment to meet customer requirements
2. Preparing product quotations and bids for engineered packages
3. Ongoing communication with customers and suppliers to address technical/commercial inquiries
4. Providing technical support and expertise for our outside sales force, consultants, and customers
5. Work with cross-functional teams on various projects on an as-needed basis
6. Interface with Engineering and Product Management teams on product design/capability inquiries
7. Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a strong preference for Electrical, Mechanical specialization

1 to 3 Years of experience as an applications engineer, inside sales, or related areas preferably in industrial/manufacturing settings

Demonstrated proficiency in the full Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with JDE and Salesforce software is an asset

Proven experience interacting with customers, preparing quotations, selecting equipment, or related duties

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure or prior experience with electrical switchgear/design would be a definite asset

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:

General Office Environment, PC use
