Reporting to the Senior Director, Financial Analysis and Transformation, the incumbent is responsible for all credit activities in Canada and the United States, including the necessary support for export risk management. The credit director leads a team of managers and ensures its development. His mission is to establish high standards and performance indicators in terms of credit, ensure compliance with the credit policy, evaluate the level of risk related to our clients and ensure the continuous improvement of processes under the responsibility of his team. He plans and implements credit programs, assesses risks, monitors collections and review performance indicators to monitor accounts receivable and outstanding balances. Working closely with the managers of his team and other stakeholders in the organization, he identifies risks and determines the actions necessary to mitigate them.

What’s involved in this role
Establishes a long-term vision and direction by working closely with team members and his immediate supervisor. Provides mobilizing leadership to achieve the strategic, tactical, and operational objectives of his or her management.
Establish a reporting environment including performance indicators related to credit activities and is responsible for monthly update. Identifies issues and opportunities, implements action plans and ensures follow-up.
Supports sales teams in growth, ensures smooth communications with accounts receivable and master files teams and actively participates in the implementation of new processes as part of our SAP digital transformation.
Acts as an agent of change in a constantly changing environment; Acts as a coach in the development of the skills of his team members.
Ensures that the credit policy is respected, updated, and applied and implements credit, collection, and bad debt management procedures with the aim of reducing the number of bad debts and mitigating risk. Reviews credit reports annually to review the limits granted and the terms of payments.
Reviews credit insurance strategies, both domestic and international, to ensure organizational alignment, sales support, and protection of our accounts receivable. Supports initiatives or strategies surrounding credit insurance.
Negotiates with collection agencies, determines the collection methods to be used to recover the amounts owed as quickly as possible. Decides on the path and actions to be taken for the collection of overdue accounts; occasionally uses external investigation services and follows up on accounts in collection.
Acts as a resource person in process improvement initiatives.
What you need to join our team
Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting/Finance;
Be a member of the I.C.C. and hold a CCP (Certified Credit Professional) designation an asset;
Have 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including personnel management (executives and employees);
Experience in the manufacturing sector is a strong asset;
Experience in negotiation, trade credit and financial statement analysis;
Experience in an SAP environment;
Bilingualism (English and French) - Frequent communication with partners, customers and/or employees outside Quebec.
