The Harris Poll Canada is seeking a Business Development Director to join a close-knit team that leads the way in tech-driven market insights through innovative, cost-effective research solutions.
As a Business Development Director, you will drive new business initiatives to deliver against sales targets, along with managing and leading a team of managers. In this role, you will use innovative strategies to develop and execute winning sales plans for yourself and your team. The team is seeking someone who has a proven record of securing new business, building strong relationships, and closing deals. You will thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting and enjoy leading a high-performing sales team.
This is a hybrid role, working at least two days each week from our Toronto office, and you need to be available to travel from time to time.
Responsibilities Strategize, develop, and execute winning sales plans for yourself and your team.
Innovate mindset, present, and confidently sell our cutting-edge research solutions and technology.
Close deals, secure new business, and consistently surpass sales goals.
Lead, motivate, inspire, and manage a high-performing sales team.
Build Relationships: Cultivate strong client connections and exceptional service.
Provide an excellent first impression of The Harris Poll by recognizing the need for urgency and consistent follow-up.
Available to travel for work.
Experience & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, or a related field.
A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in sales.
A proven track record of leading and managing teams.
A proven track record of generating leads, building pipelines, and achieving targets.
Advanced sales techniques and proficiency in consultative selling, solution-based sales, and negotiation strategies.
Strong team development and mentoring experience with strong experience in coaching and mentoring sales teams to achieve peak performance.
Strong analytical skills, proven ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to drive strategic decisions.
Strong and confident communicator, persuasive writer, and the proven ability to deliver engaging sales presentations.
Self-motivated with a go-getter attitude, driven and skilled using a range of channels and tools including social channels to connect and network.
Strong organizational skills and efficient multitasker with strong administrative abilities.
