Field Service Engineer (170jc) – Alfreton, Derbyshire - £35 – 40k + Benefits

 

This award-winning medical equipment manufacturing company are now seeking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to their expanding and developing company in the treatment of various types of cancer.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

 

You will be reporting to the Technical Service Manager, and you will be once you have completed 3-4 months of product training be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of company Medical Systems equipment. You will need to be customer focused at all times, prepared to work within and as part of a team, be able to interact with colleagues, management at all levels, clients and other trades in a professional and tactful manner, and in doing so present a positive image of the Company.

 

Therefore, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead projects as required.
  • Support customers and In-house Departments (Sales, Admin Manufacturing and Operations) as needed.
  • Install and commission Medical Systems Equipment and associated equipment, as well as maintain and service the Medical Systems Equipment and associated equipment.
  • Provide technical support to both internally and externally and communicate with everyone at all levels.
  • Ensure that guidelines and standards of work expected by my client are understood and met.
  • Ensure that follow-up work requirements are referred back to the appropriate members within the company to enable necessary action to happen.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times, consistent with client and company expectations, and in doing so help to promote the image of the Company.
  • Set a good example to colleagues by observing and obeying all company rules and regulations, complying with all site regulations, and safeguarding Company property.
  • Attend all training courses and meetings as required by the company.
  • Provide support and co-operation to the management and to colleagues and be prepared and willing to help and contribute to the success of the company at all times.
  • Observe and adhere to company health & safety guidelines and contribute to a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Work with and assist Production when required

 

To be eligible for this role you will need the following skills, knowledge and skills:

  • Individuals who have a background in medical equipment would be an advantage, but anyone who has experience of working on equipment from a mechanical and electrical will equally be of interest.
  • Qualification in technical engineering or technical education with sound technical knowledge
  • Technical aptitude to understand, train customers and users on products Excellent mastery of English
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel across the UK and overseas, as this role will involve between 60 to 70% travel across Europe and in the near future the US.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a constantly changing environment. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Capacity to manage time constraints
  • Driving license

 

The ideal candidate would be someone who has a strong electronics and mechanical engineering background, such as a Weapons Engineer from the RN, Aviation engineer from the RAF or REME or similar and who has the ability to follow a process and who can read and understand product drawings.

 

You must also have the ability to liaise effectively at all levels, as most of the client facing work will be with clinicians and their teams.

 

You will need to based within a reasonable commute of their site as you will be spending the first 3 – 4 months on the company production line, where you will learn all about the equipment and the certification process that is mandatory before it can be installed and start working in the hospital or Medical Clinics as needed.
