A longstanding and well-reputed firm in the heart of downtown Vancouver has recently expanded into the Langley area and is seeking a senior family law lawyer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity to work for an ambitious firm with an established file load ready to be handed over.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Prior to their expansion into Langley, our client has been well-established in Vancouver for nearly 2 decades. A previous winner of the CBA Work Life Balance award, they pride themselves on their friendly and supportive environment with an emphasis on teamwork and mentorship. The firm likes to hire lawyers who are involved in their community and professional development initiatives such as attending/conducting presentations, contributing to writing articles or blog posts, and engaging in continued professional development.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The firm is looking to add a senior family law lawyer to their Langley office location. With plans moving forward to continue bolstering the strength of the team already present, there would be plenty of work available for the incoming lawyer. This work would involve advising on various family law matters such as complex divisions of family property, divorces and separations, prenup/cohabitation agreements, custody and parenting disputes, and more. As this Langley office is in the process of growing, this is an excellent opportunity for the incoming individual to help lead and shape the culture and work environment for years to come.
THE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 8-year call to the BC Bar
Be comfortable with a billing target of 1600
Have experience with working on complex family law matters
Portable book of business a strong asset, but not required. Alternatively, have the capacity and capability of taking on substantial file load
COMPENSATION
$180,000 annual salary; commensurate with experience
Lucrative bonus structure – discretionary bonus with potential to earn up to 50% of billed and collected once exceeding billable target
