Our esteemed client in the manufacturing industry is currently seeking a Credit & Collections Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital part in administering the company’s Credit Policy. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to both short and long-term organizational goals while delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting collections, dispute resolution, order releases, and credit investigations for a diverse clientele.
  • Communicating with customers to secure payments, follow up on overdue balances, and resolve issues.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of collection actions and correspondence using specialized software.
  • Analyzing accounts to understand payment trends and previous collection efforts.
  • Prioritizing collection efforts and implementing effective strategies.
  • Managing assigned portfolios to minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and past dues.
  • Recommending legal or third-party actions when necessary, considering debtors’ financial positions and risks to the company.
  • Evaluating and documenting credit limits based on various factors.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to address customer issues related to order processing, delivery, and project fulfillment.
  • Reconciling customer accounts and requesting appropriate adjustments.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adhering to professional communication standards at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finance or related field.
  • 1-3 years of continuous experience in a comparable B2B distribution role.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/French is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with SX.e ERP and Sidetrade interface is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
