What You'll Do The Fortnite Creative Team is bringing the entire toolset of Unreal Engine and the Unreal Editor to developers and creators to make and publish experiences within Fortnite. We’re looking for a Senior Gameplay Systems Programmer to implement gameplay systems, APIs, and features that will allow Fortnite creators to build the next generation of amazing gameplay experiences. In this role, you will Implement, augment and maintain gameplay features and systems that underpin Fortnite Creative Solve technical challenges in the development of the Unreal Editor for Fortnite that will take Fortnite Creative experiences to the next level Build and maintain bridges with other teams within and outside of Fortnite Creative to help drive and maintain vision Look for ways to push the technology forward in new and innovative ways Deep-dive on various technical gameplay framework topics, ensuring that the architecture and code are robust and scalable Diagnose and fix memory and performance issues to unlock the full potential of Fortnite Creative for creators and players What we're looking for Strong C++ skills and software programming principles A keen analytical mind, with strong problem-solving skills Experience developing AAA games or game engine technology professionally Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal) Pay Transparency Information The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
