Job Requirements / Description
The Director of Retail will be responsible for the overall strategy and management of the Detroit Lions retail operations and merchandising strategy. This position will work closely with other internal department stakeholders in legal, finance, marketing, partnership, and operations. This position will also be the liaison with Fanatics and the NFL regarding all consumer products, ecommerce, and the Ford Field location. The Director will be responsible for driving revenue, working with marketing on brand strategy, creating operational efficiencies and streamlining internal gifting and merchandise. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Director of Retail will have responsibilities, including but not limited to, the following Develop Short and Long term strategic plan for ecommerce, in stadium retail and potential off premise locations. Oversee and manage relationship with Fanatics on ecommerce and in-stadium retail locations Responsible for comprehending legal agreements with Fanatics and other 3rd parties and executing elements in those agreements. Collaborate with Marketing team to maintain brand strategy and consistency throughout product buys, on site set up and overall experience Work with all internal business and operation departments to fulfill needs for retail activations through events, and other business objectives Work with partnership team on 3rd party partnerships with Idegy Financial liaison to internal finance team and ensure proper financial reporting through Fanatics and other 3rd party vendors Lead Bi-weekly Fanatics meetings Support game day operations to ensure speed of service, driving revenue and overall guest satisfaction. Work with the NFL consumer products division and official licensees on product assortment details and approvals Provide additional support for TSE Marketing and internal education/awareness Comprehensive expertise in both front and back-of-house retail operations Develop strategy and manage internal gifting and merchandising Assist with concert retail strategy for concerts and other events, including training camp and other events as required. Research best practices across the NFL and other sports and retail operations Work with Analytics team on data governance and future technologies NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands, including being available to work a non-standard schedule in support of international travel, football operations, events, and other Marketing activities, including holidays and weekends as needed. Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Strong writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a timely and productive manner. Communicates effectively with team members. Creative and innovative thinker who is detail-oriented. Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with theobjectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporatedinto the position description if they are ongoing. QUALIFICATIONS 3-5 years of experience in Retail Marketing Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field Prior professional sports and/or entertainment industry experience preferred Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
