Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, who specialise with the Energy from Waste (EfW) industry, to recruit for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Glasgow, Scotland. The vital EC&I Technician role comes with a salary of £48,114 (inclusive of on-call payment) + Overtime (1.5x) + up to 10% Bonus + benefits. Responsibilities and duties Reporting to the Lead Technician, you will be responsible for: Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to maximise plant availability including pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and control systems (DCS, PLCs) and electrical equipment. Assisting during major maintenance periods, shutdowns, outages etc. when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency. Working alongside other technicians in the maintenance team in diagnosing faults and assisting/suggesting equipment upgrades Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS Supervising and directing on site contractors when required Working within the company health, safety and environmental processes and procedures at all times. This is a Monday - Friday role, working 40 hours per week with 1 in 3 weeks being on call. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: A time-served apprenticeship with an NVQ Level 3 in electrical/electronic engineering, measurement & control or similar. 17th / 18th Edition will be advantageous but not a necessity A health and safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous, not a necessity Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge The EC&I Technician role would suit someone who has: Excellent technical knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, Instrumentation, and some electrical experience Prior experience gained in a heavy process environment e.g. power station, chemical plant, refinery, steel works etc Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) Experience with instrument loop drawing and P&IDs A flexible working approach This could be suitable for Royal/Merchant Navy Engineers who have experience of electrical and control systems Salary and benefits of the EC&I Technician role A salary of £48,114 (inclusive of on call payment) Up to 10% Bonus Overtime at 1.5x Other benefits INDPOW Astute Technical Recruitment Limited are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
