Prototyping Technician

We are seeking a Prototyping Technician who embodies a tinkerer’s spirit and has a passion for hands-on work. If you love fixing things, building from scratch, and have a knack for creative problem-solving, you’ll find your home here. We believe in fostering an environment where curiosity and craftsmanship can flourish.Key Responsibilities:Prototype Development: Build, test, and refine prototypes based on design specifications, ensuring functionality and quality.Hands-On Assembly: Utilize a variety of tools and materials to construct prototypes, from electronics to mechanical components.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with prototypes, employing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to improve designs.Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and designers to understand project goals and provide feedback on designs based on hands-on experience.Documentation: Maintain detailed records of prototypes, including processes, materials used, and any modifications made.Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and safely stored, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.Continuous Learning: Stay updated on new technologies and methods in prototyping and fabrication.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field is a plus.Experience: Previous experience in prototyping, fabrication, or a hands-on technical role (either as a hobby or at work)Skills:Proficiency with hand and power tools.Basic knowledge of electronics and mechanical systems.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Personal Traits:A tinkerer at heart who enjoys building and fixing things.Creative and resourceful with a passion for hands-on work.You enjoyed building with LEGO as a child :).Why Join Us?At Waterloo Technical, we value creativity and encourage a culture of innovation.
