The pupils and students have severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and supports children from the ages of 2-19. Applicants with previous experience as an SEND Teaching Assistant (main stream or special needs schools) are also welcomed. You will be responsible for working with children and supporting their complex needs as part of a team of TA’s alongside a teacher in a rich and stimulating environment in this SEN school for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties and disabilities (PMLD). The role will require the following responsibilities; Supporting students with severe and complex needs including Autism and Asperger’s, down syndrome and cerebral palsy Providing students with personal care assistance Managing challenging behaviour Collaborating with the teacher and assisting with creating and delivering activities Recording students’ progress and feeding back to the teacher Will work one to one with some students The ideal candidate will have /be; Previous experience with SEN Good knowledge of SEN and passion to develop Able to manage challenging behaviour Able to commit to working fixed days – full or part time and to commute to the Hemel Hempstead area Has a clear and valid DBS on the update service  or willing to obtain one Able to assist pupils/ students with personal care In addition to top rates of pay, and a commitment to your professional development we can offer you a pension contribution scheme and a dedicated consultant to support you every step of the way.  Please visit our website .
