Senior Java Software Engineer

Job Title: Senior Java DeveloperLocation: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension)Team Overview:The Fixed Income eTrading team focuses on building high-performance, low-latency technology to support electronic trading and real-time pricing of fixed-income products.As a key player in this rapidly evolving space, eTrading platform is essential for executing billions of dollars in client trades every day.Role Purpose:Join the Fixed Income Connectivity team to help build and optimize connectivity solutions, both client-facing and through ECN platforms.The position will involve partnering with internal and external stakeholders to solve complex business and technology problems with a direct impact on trading operations.Key Responsibilities:Develop high-performance, low-latency applications utilizing best practices.Design reusable components and services while adhering to advanced design principles.Work with eTrading teams to support and enhance Blackbird components, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.Contribute to the global build-out of the connectivity platform and drive the evolution of its architecture.Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including business users and quants, to ensure delivery of technical solutions.Set and enforce engineering standards for optimal performance.Required Qualifications:Hands-on experience in Java development for service-oriented applications.Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, system performance tuning, and low-latency programming.Experience in designing and architecting high-performance server-side components.Familiarity with Java, Spring, FIX, TDD, BDD, KDB, and UNIX scripting.Prior experience with e-trading systems or financial products (bonds, swaps, repos) is highly desirable.Dexian is a leading provider of staffing, IT, and workforce solutions with over 12,000 employees and 70 locations worldwide.
