Job Description: Role Summary Do you want to join a young and dynamic asset management firm? Sun Life Global Investments (SLGI) is one of Canada’s fastest growing institutional asset managers in the Defined Contribution industry. It primarily markets its funds to plan sponsor clients of Sun Life’s Group Retirement Services (GRS) defined contribution (DC) business and to Sun Life’s Client Solutions (rollover) area. The Senior Manager, Institutional Sales & Client Support is the primary inside point of contact between Product, Marketing and the Institutional Business Development (DB) and Client Relationship (CR) team. This role is also the primary contact for the Institutional BD and CR team day to day operational needs. The ideal candidate’s key accountability will be to oversee the support provided to the Institutional BD and CR team, helping them foster strong relationships & excellence in servicing with our internal partners GRS and Client Solutions, our external partners (consultants & group advisors) and our largest DC Clients. The incumbent will coordinate activities related to Client and sales presentations, communications, requests for proposal/information, and event management. He will also be working in tight collaboration with the Marketing team on the creation of persuasive marketing collateral. This role can be located in Montreal or Toronto. The candidate will report directly to the Director, Institutional Business located in Montreal. Main Accountabilities Working in close collaboration with Institutional Business team, the candidate will have the main following accountabilities: Sales & Client Support and Reporting Manage and deliver all ad-hoc and regular Client reporting including quarterly updates of pitchbooks, marketing materials and sales support collateral. Coordinate Sales & Client presentations in partnership with Marketing and Product teams: Customize and/or personalize presentations (e.g. for specific audiences or territories). Act as liaison between Marketing and Product teams and Institutional Business Development (BD) and Client Relationship (CR) team to ensure that presentations contain the appropriate information. Oversee the delivery of quarterly mass e-communications to internal & external business partners. Ensure the Institutional BD and CR team receive the required support. Develop strong partnerships with internal partners GRS and Client Solutions. CRM data management and Sales analytics / reporting Help maintain and enhance the CRM database (Salesforce), and generate quarterly reports. Maintenance of SLGI SharePoint (intranet), and help maintain our documentation on the SLGI website. Requests for Proposal/Information (RFP/RFI) Lead the RFP/RFI process to ensure consistency, accuracy and on time delivery, and draft responses in collaboration with cross-business teams such as Product, Portfolio Management, Legal and Compliance. Help develop new RFP/RFI content in collaboration with the Portfolio Management team and SMEs of functional teams. Maintain the RFP/RFI database with current and accurate responses. Help the Institutional BD and CR team with adhoc data & information requests. Help the Sales support team maintain the quarterly request log to ensure excellence in servicing. Process Improvement Take initiative to recommend, conceptualize, plan, build and implement process improvements. Manage other projects as required. People Management Manage, lead and develop the Institutional Sales & Client Support team. Knowledge/Skills/Experience/Competencies: Knowledge of the pension/institutional investment management business & investment products a requirement. Understanding of sales and marketing processes and environment. Understanding of Sun Life’s Group Retirement Services and Client Solutions (rollover) businesses and purpose. Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills (questioning, listening, writing, observing). Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence peers to achieve a desired result. Proven ability to collaborate across all levels including listening and facilitation skills. A team player with solid project management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize a portfolio of initiatives. Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment and balance competing priorities. Ability to be flexible and able to adapt to a frequently changing environment. Continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset. Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide. Requirements: Undergraduate Business or equivalent university degree or college diploma. Knowledge of the pension/institutional investment management business & investment products a requirement. Minimum 7 years of work experience, with 5+ years in Institutional Sales & Client Support. Proficient with computer applications such as Outlook, Windows, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
