The Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll join our team in building the infrastructure needed to support the rest of our engineering department. You’ll help to create a stable foundation for our engineers to build off of and tools that are highly available, cost-efficient and extensible. As we continue to scale and embrace the DevOps culture, you will be looked to for guidance and mentorship.
We’re looking for someone who is excited to learn, a great team player, and strives to do the right things the first time around but not at the expense of quality. 
  • Help manage technical projects within the team
  • Automate key processes, including build, release, and monitoring (alerting and observability), in the development and deployment of both infrastructure and products
  • Participate in a rotating on-call duty to support the application
  • Mentor and collaborate with team members and other staff to further develop a DevOps culture
  • Building and maintaining technical solutions
  • Ensuring our AWS-based platform continues to scale as we do
  • A build champion, implementing changes that improve speed and quality
  • Contributing to our monitoring, alerting, and recovery pipelines
  • Design and enforce security policies for sensitive user data and our systems overall
What You Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a SaaS environment
  • Proficiency with AWS infrastructure tools (EBS, S3, EC2, Elastic IP, Route 53, VPC) or other cloud-hosted services
  • Strong understanding of application development methodologies
  • Experience in the testing and deployment of complex software solutions in a fast-paced, cloud environment
  • Scripting (shell, python, ruby, chef) skills for monitoring and automation
  • Experience working with SQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ or other message-brokers and ElasticSearch  
  • Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Serverless computing, Microservices
  • Experience with RUM, tracing, monitoring and other important metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and pick up new technologies
  • Highly analytical with a passion for finding solutions to tough problems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skill

Hybrid Policy
At Method we are working on a hybrid schedule. Employees work from the office 2-3 times each week from our office in downtown Toronto.
In your first 30 days you will:
  • Complete Method’s bootcamp.
  • Understand Method’s values and how our teams collaborate to drive results.
  • Learn and become an expert of our internal communication tools, norms, and practices.
In your first 60 days you will:
  • Participate in onboarding sessions to understand company culture, values, and goals.
  • Learn the company's tools, technologies, and processes (e.g., programming languages, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems).
  • Review existing documentation and codebase to gain a deeper understanding of current workflows.
  • Identify potential areas for improvement in infrastructure, automation, and monitoring.
In your first 90 days you will:
  • Begin working on assigned tasks and projects, starting with smaller contributions to existing workflows.
  • Actively collaborate with team members to identify solutions and implement improvements.
  • Propose and implement automation scripts or tools to streamline processes.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth operation.
Job type: Full-time, permanent.
Compensation: $120,000 to $130,000 annually
