Student Proposal Coordinator

What You’ll Be Working On


Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.

We are seeking a student to join us for a 4-month co-op position starting in September 2024. This position will be based out of Edmonton, AB. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of Proposal Specialists to create submission documents, including Expressions of Interest (EOI), Requests for Qualifications (RFQ), and Requests for Proposal (RFP).

  • Assist in the review process of RFPs by analyzing requirements, developing proposal outlines, timelines, and assignments (Proposal Plan), and identifying potential risks and concerns.

  • Participate in kick-off meetings and Proposal Planning sessions to ensure effective communication and representation of all key proposal stakeholders.

  • Conduct research to gather essential data required for the preparation of submission documents.

  • Create persuasive graphics, visual communication strategies, and select/acquire strategic images to enhance the proposals' overall impact.

  • Assist in the assembly and review of proposal responses for compliance, accuracy, and content quality.

  • Coordinate and participate in review sessions with team members and stakeholders to ensure the integrity of all proposal documents and solutions.

  • Proofread, edit, and reword text to ensure clarity, coherence, and professional presentation.

  • Provide administrative support related to proposal coordination, such as organizing documents, maintaining proposal files, and managing deadlines.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and guidelines related to proposal coordination and contribute innovative ideas to improve the proposal development process.

Who We Need On Our Team

  • You are currently enrolled in an, English, Technical Writing, Marketing or Journalism or equivalent program

  • You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently

  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude

  • Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries
