The Village of Winston Park located in Kitchener , Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Recreation to join their Village Team.

As a new Director of Recreation, you will:
  • Have a diploma or degree in Recreation/Leisure Studies and/or Gerontology or Equivalent from a community college or university
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Health Care Setting
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
  • Demonstrate previous leadership experience
  • Respect the rights and dignity of all residents, families, team members and visitors to the village and addresses any requests with professionalism and care
  • Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
As a new Director of Recreation joining our Village Team it would be an ASSET but not required for you to having the following:
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s wellbeing and holistic health
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations and best practices (e.g. Long Term Care Act, 2007, RHRA act and standards, supplies, equipment ordering, etc.)
  • F Class License
  • Experience with shift scheduling, department spending and budget
  • Skills Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents
