At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Wiring Specialist to join The Wiremold Company in West Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, you will perform fabrication and assembly operations to produce a variety of products, including more complex assemblies.

 

Training & Certification: Comprehensive training and certification will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped to excel in this position and advance your skills.

 

Hourly Pay:  $19.00/per hour

Shift:  1st (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM EDT)

 

 

What Will You Do?

 

Complies with all OSHA and Company safety procedures and works in a safe manner to insure both personal safety and safety of others.

Performs all assignments with attention to quality standards of workmanship.

Fabrication and assembly activities include, but are not limited to, pressing, tapping, welding, sealing, labeling, stamping, sawing, cutting, counting, loading and unloading products, cartons, and pallets.

Cutting to length and fabricating wires and assembling power/data devices into products, including terminating connections and testing of assemblies or finished products.

Ability to obtain and maintain wiring certification.

Packs, seals, and labels all products utilizing tools and equipment as needed. Makes minor adjustments on assembling and packaging machines and small hand tools to maintain quality.

Uses a variety of hand tools, air screw drivers, tapping machines, automatic and semi-automatic machinery.

Perform material handling functions as needed.

Records, maintains, and reports on materials handled, packed, stored, or transported using applicable company systems.

Places completed work in designated location.

Loads and unloads work in process to machines required in their rotation, including restarts and resets as needed.

Maintains equipment and materials in good repair and maintains an orderly work area consistent with 5C and safe work practices.

Performs Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) schedules and assignments as required for the tools, equipment and small machines used in the performance of this function.

Records quality and productivity information as necessary.

May work alone with periodic supervision or may work with a group depending on the products being assembled or the tools and equipment being operated.

Performs other work as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications:
Required Skills

Must be able to use basic hand tools and measuring instruments.

Must demonstrate an ability to perform standard work using takt time and standard work.

Must be able to perform all work assignments within the classification in a rotation within the work cell.

Must be willing to cross train on all rotation assignments in the work cell.

 

Essential Mental Functions:

Must be able to work from applicable company systems including but not limited to blueprint or standard work sheets, when the work assignment requires.

Must be able to solve mathematical equations.
