The AI Accelerator team, within DSE, plays a central role in harnessing the full potential of AI across the company. From service analytics, geo analytics, financial and behavioral analytics, we act as transformation consultants to help our business unit partners create exponential value through an insight-by-design approach.  A key focus of this role will be to collaborate across business units to ideate, define, and champion opportunities to apply AI insights that drive improved decision-making and stronger business outcomes. As a Manager of Artificial Intelligence, you will lead a team of data experts (Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts) to drive solutions in collaboration with our marketing, engineering, sales, business solutions, security, privacy teams, and TELUS-wide AI-focused teams. You will build on our existing strengths in privacy, analytics, strategy, and architecture. What you'll do Lead and Inspire: Manage and motivate a team of AI experts, inspiring them to act as intrapreneurs who identify opportunities, take calculated risks, and own the results and impact of their work. Strategic Implementation: Drive the development and execution of AI strategies that align with TELUS' business objectives, ensuring transformative and disruptive technologies are implemented at scale. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate complex technical problems and AI-driven insights to non-technical audiences to unlock new business needs and drive decision-making. Motivate and Retain Talent: Cultivate a motivating environment where team members feel valued and encouraged to pursue continuous learning and innovation in a fast-changing technological landscape. Change Management: Facilitate organizational change by operationalizing AI insights and managing transformations through effective change management practices. Engineering Excellence: Spearhead the development and implementation of robust, scalable, and efficient AI solutions. Ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering, data management, and model deployment. Empowerment & Optimization: Help team members to resolve complex technical, process, and business roadblocks.Dynamically prioritize the team’s work to maximize measurable business outcomes, managing delivery lifecycles and business models efficiently. What you'll do AI Expertise: Deep technical knowledge and 3+ years of experience in deploying AI and machine learning solutions, applying data science techniques to generate actionable insights and achieve economies of scale. Business Development: Experience developing new strategies and identifying business opportunities that result in efficiencies and financial outcomes. Team Leadership: 3+ years of experience in a role guiding and influencing people. Excellent communicator with a track record of building strong relationships, driving a culture of high engagement, and delivering outstanding program results. Business & Financial Acumen: Ability to own the overall financial strategy around people, processes, and technology, while ensuring strong delivery on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Impactful communication: Ability to serve as the primary communication link and provide executive updates on cross-TELUS AI programs and the overall health of these initiatives. Process Automation Know-How: Strong analytics, digitization, and process automation knowledge. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields. Great-to-Haves MBA (Master in Business Administration) Master of Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or related fields Deep understanding of cloud computing environments and associated analytics opportunities and challenges Strong knowledge of industry pressures in the telecommunications industry
