Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEND Experience) Location: Bartley Green, Birmingham School Type: Primary School Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications Start Date: ASAP About the Role: A thriving primary school in Bartley Green is looking for a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a background in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team, supporting children to reach their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: * Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEND in the classroom. * Assist the class teacher with implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of SEND pupils. * Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported. * Track and report on the progress of SEND students, working closely with teachers, parents, and specialists. * Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development, encouraging confidence and independence. * Promote positive behaviour and assist with any personal care needs. Qualifications & Experience: * Minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or SEND-specific qualifications). * Proven experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). * Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. * A nurturing, patient, and positive approach to supporting children. * Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Desirable: * Experience working within a primary school environment. * Additional SEND training (e.g., Autism, ADHD, speech and language support).
