Skilled Draftsperson CAD Operator / Designer Are you a skilled Designer/Draftsperson seeking an exciting opportunity in an industry-leading architectural metalwork business? Join Futures UK Limited and work across 2 different companies in our group:- Tony Perry Limited and Caldwell Metalwork Fabrication Limited, to play a key role in transforming a wildly varying range of designs into reality. As a skilled Designer , you will utilise your expertise to create precise and detailed technical drawings that bring our customers’ concepts to life. Your role at will be crucial in translating design concepts into detailed technical drawings for architectural metalwork projects. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, workshop welder fabricators, and project teams to accurately interpret design specifications and convert them into precise drawings. Your attention to detail and understanding of architectural metalwork processes will be vital in creating drawings that align with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. The core of this role is to work with clients to detail projects, but as a key part of the business you will be exposed to, commercial decisions and manufacturing best practice. There is ample opportunity for the right person to progress their role as their experience grows. Responsibilities Include: * Utilising CAD software to create accurate and detailed technical drawings for architectural metalwork projects. * Interpreting design specifications and converting them into precise drawings that reflect project requirements. * Collaborating with designers, engineers, and project teams to ensure drawings align with project objectives and industry standards and deadlines are met. * Addressing design challenges and providing innovative solutions to optimise the functionality and aesthetics of metalwork designs. * Maintaining drawing documentation, revision control, and adherence to quality standards. * Continuously enhancing CAD skills and stay updated with industry trends and advancements. * Following established procedures and protocols for file management and drawing organisation. Experience & Qualifications HNC, HND, Degree, or proven aptitude and industry experience Inventor CAD proficient (ideal) but will consider people with SolidWorks or AutoCad experience Aptitude to learn new CAD packages (and associated software) as the business develops • 3D modelling experience Demonstrable understanding of relevant engineering principles (tolerances, 1st & 3rd Projection, standards, detailing) Demonstrable understanding of measurement principles and practice (Civil experience ideal but other relevant experience considered) Ability to work to industry specific regulations (previous experience ideal, training and guidance provided where needed) Experience of or exposure to metalwork (fabrication or machining) (needed) We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaged professional who can effectively manage work from enquiry, to drawing, detailing and fabrication documentation. Put simply, a team member who understands both the technical and practical aspects of delivering a client's project to specification, on-time, and on-budget. The Package * Hybrid role with mix of working across: 1. Tony Perry ( Great Dunmow, Essex) 2. Caldwell ( Stevenage, Hertfordshire) 3. Working from Home * 40 Hours per week: 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday - 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak * Competitive salary for an experienced candidate -appropriate generous rate for a less experienced candidate with strong potential * 22 Days Paid Holiday + Bank Holidays and Pension To apply, please email your CV and a cover letter
