Quality Engineer sought by a world leading automotive components manufacturer to join their fast-paced Wednesbury manufacturing plant.
The Role:
As Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that continuous improvement is made in all Production MEQ Quality Deliverables (e.g. RPPM, CPPM, IPPM, SPPM, Quality Costs, Customer Product Audits and Warranty / JD Power). Your key duties will include:
Ensuring customer and internal quality issues are resolved via problem solving methods: 8D Report, Problem Solving Document “PSD”, PCAD, Kepner-Tregoe, etc.
Preparing necessary corrective / preventive actions, following up, verifying and releasing corrective actions
Assuring that all Quality activities are performed according to BOS-, TS 16 949-, ISO 9000 standards and specific customer requirements
Executing Management Representative duties: ensuring that BOS processes are implemented and maintained and any need for improvement and ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the plant
Ensuring timely response to customer issues, implementing containment and championing problem solving
Evaluating customer product audit results and providing feedback e.g. production, engineering etc.
Supporting customer regarding corrective and preventative actions
Analysing parts returned through warranty system with the responsible BU Engineer
Initiating customer responses and action plans
Maintaining local Quality System according to BOS, TS 16 949, ISO 9000 requirements
Developing and training plant personnel in application of methodologies & techniques
The successful Quality Engineer should demonstrate:
3 years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
Degree or similar qualification (or qualified by experience)
Trained in standards for QMS: IATF16949, Application of QMS tools and techniques
Application of QMS tools and techniques
APQP, FMEA, Inspection planning, SPC, DOE, QFD, Six Sigma
Knowledge in PC software applications, e.g. Microsoft Office
Experience with OEM’s and/or Suppliers
Knowledge of the AIAG Quality planning and Control Plan standard, FMEA´s, PPAP´s, Dimensional layouts, gage/fixture design and Performance/Material testing
Manufacturing Quality system experience and customer communication activities
Able to drive to and support on customer sites occasionally if required
An AQE (Advanced Quality Engineer) or NPI (New Product Introduction) background would also be suitable
