The RoleWorking within the PMO, the Project Manager is responsible for building and leading a multi-disciplinary integrated Project Team that is tasked with achieving the fiscal commitments of the Project while providing an excellent solution delivery experience to our Customers and growth opportunities for OSI team members.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking with the Program Manager build and retain a highly performing Project TeamProviding leadership to the Project Team through the application of best practice management techniquesProviding timely performance feedback to the Project TeamDelivering Projects on budget and schedule and to the satisfaction of Customers and internal stakeholders.Achieving Project financial commitments including revenue, GM and cash flow.Ensures a very close working relationship with the Project EngineerAutonomous and absolute decision making authority within the confines of the project objectivesSingle point of accountability for all project activities and objectivesResponsible for achieving Project margin and revenue targets and other objectives as agreedRepresenting OSI at Customer meetingsUnderstanding and managing all key Project StakeholdersBuilding excellent Customer relationshipsGrowing the scope of the Project and laying the groundwork for future businessLeads the Bid Team during the Proposal phase of ProjectsIdentifying process deficiencies and recommending and implementing improvementsDistributes work packages to the team and monitors progress throughout the project cycle against schedule and budget; acts to ensure problem resolution is taking place as necessaryExecuting Project Controls, including but not limited to:Maintains the Project Risk Register advising stakeholders of the Project risk profile on a regular basisMaintains the Project Schedule and ensures that internal stakeholders are aware of their delivery obligationsProvides the customer with frequent updates on the ProjectProvides routine and regular project reports to the Program Manager and Director, Programs as well as other internal and external stakeholdersManages and controls any sub-contractors that are part of the project teamWorking with the Project Accountant to understand and ensure that financial objectives of the Project are metEnsure the Project is executed according to the OSI QMSEnsures the Project complies with applicable Regulatory requirementsYou BringEducation: Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; Formal Project Management training (PMP/APM/PRINCE2) an asset.Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering organizations with a minimum of 7 years as a Project Manager; A proven track record of successfully delivering large complex systems (> $5M) in a multi-discipline, multi stakeholder environment.Skills: Advanced communication skills (written and verbal); ability to think innovatively; ability to work autonomously; strong skills in organizing and facilitating project plan work flow between applicable partiesOther: In-depth knowledge of marine navigation systems and markets is favorable, formal business qualifications and training would be an asset, ability and willingness to travel as necessary is required; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is requiredWhy OSI?
