No other resumes will be considered using an alternative submission process.Our client, a prominent financial institution with a substantial presence in North America, is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead their dynamic team.Job Summary:The Director of Engineering can expect to play an active role in the development and completion of projects, meet and report back to upper management, plan and monitor work schedules and cash flows, and work with multiple and diverse teams. To be successful in this role, you should have exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills, years of management experience, and a belief in developing the skills and talents of others. Ideal candidates will have experience in identifying and navigating organizational changes, a keen interest in international trends in engineering and leadership, and above-average emotional intelligenceKey Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineering managers and senior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company’s business goals and objectives.Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development for team members.Technical Oversight and Strategy:Provide technical leadership and expertise in Java or .NET development, guiding architectural decisions and ensuring best practices are followed.Drive the adoption and integration of public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) into the company’s technology stack.Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance development efficiency and product quality.Project and Product Management:Collaborate with product management, stakeholders, and other departments to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines.Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion.Innovation and Continuous Improvement:Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.Encourage experimentation and the adoption of modern development practices, such as Agile/Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD.Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging them to drive the company’s technical vision forward.Quality Assurance and Compliance:Implement and oversee quality assurance processes, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of software solutions.Ensure all engineering activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.Qualifications:Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Extensive experience with Java or .NET development.Proven experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).Skills and Competencies:Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate an engineering team.Deep understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.Proficiency in cloud-based architectures and services, including deployment, monitoring, and management.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive management.Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus.Benefits:Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Retirement savings plan with company match.Professional development opportunities.Flexible work arrangements.requirements.Limitless Staffing is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
