Director of Corporate Development

We are working with a Western Canadian group seeking a Director of Corporate Development to expand its operations. This role will enhance professional growth by developing, maintaining, and executing a Partnerships & Acquisitions strategy. The Director will collaborate with senior leadership to advance acquisition activities, including targeted opportunities and Indigenous partnerships. Responsibilities include project planning, valuations, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration across multiple business units.Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the Director will partner daily with operational leadership of various entities and corporate executives. Duties include creating a corporate development program, maintaining financial models, and providing strategic guidance on business strategy and financial risks. The role involves managing partnership and acquisition transactions, leading integration efforts, and overseeing financial reporting and funding coordination.Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related fields, along with at least five years of experience in corporate development, financial modeling, and stakeholder management. Designations such as CPA, CBV, CFA, or MBA are desirable. Required skills include strong business acumen, financial analysis, proficiency in Excel, GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory knowledge. The ideal candidate will demonstrate quantitative and analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to build relationships, lead teams, and manage projects under pressure.
