Private Chef

Job DescriptionSeeking an experienced Personal Chef for a cottage in the Lake Rosseau area of Toronto. The successful applicant will be required to plan and prepare meals, plus some house management tasks. The typical week would be Wednesday through Sunday. Applicants should be flexible with their schedules and be available for some evenings, and holidays. This is a full-time, live-in position.Candidate Profile:You are a well-rounded private chef who enjoys keeping a clean and very well-organized work environment. You have a strong understanding of household hygiene and cleaning best practices. You have a ‘do what it takes attitude’ and have a calm and collected approach when things don’t go as planned. You can wear a number of different hats and are an efficient manager.Primary Responsibilities:Daily cooking required; must have knowledge of a variety of different cuisines, mainly healthy and nutritious mealsInventory management of the kitchen and residence including cleaning products and toiletriesMenu planning, track and keep records of menus to avoid repetition of mealsGrocery shoppingEnsure household mechanical systems, HVAC plumbing, equipment, and fixtures are maintainedHousehold administration, including tracking expenses, groceries etcDaily walkthroughs of residence, ensuring security measures and protocols are in place and the property is secure at all timesOccasional entertainment event planning and facilitationErrands and other tasks as neededApplicant Qualities:Excellent English communication skills and professional personal presentationMust maintain privacy and confidentiality always, exercising diplomacy, discretion and respecting appropriate boundariesA valid, clean Ontario driver’s license (class G) is required; consistent access to a vehicle is requiredMust be legally entitled to work in CanadaRequirementsCovid 19 Considerations:In order to maintain the health and safety of the workplace, this position will require a fully vaccinated candidate as a condition of employment.
