Alcohols Limited is a chemical distribution which was formed in 1955 as a subsidiary of The Palmer Group.  It is a private family company founded in 1805 which is still family owned today.  


This role will be primarily based on site at our new £23m facility in Rugby based at the Europark just off the A5 which has recently opened.  (A5 Watling Street, Clifton upon Dunsmore, Rugby Warwickshire. CV23 0AJ). The site will also house a new distillery allowing us to add capacity to our current heritage site in Birmingham which will be retained. Langley Distillery is a renowned and historic distillery known for crafting high-quality spirits and liquors and producing exceptional products that delight customers around the world.


The Opportunity


The role is responsible for maintaining the company’s management systems and complaints process, as well as acting as primary point of contact for external audits.


What you will contribute



  • Maintain Management System files, physical and electronic, in a logical, easy to access format and ensure live document versions are correct.
  • Respond to customer queries, questionnaires and assist in preparing standard responses to emerging trends.
  • Provide support to meet regulatory reporting and registration requirements, e.g. Valpak, Ecovadis, Responsible Care etc
  • Lead the management of change process and drive continuous improvement of the management system, including auditing and review of the system to ensure effectiveness.
  • Responsible for administering the complaints system management and coordinating internal actions.
  • Support of investigations where required, driving the use of Root Cause analysis techniques to deliver robust and effective CAPAs.
  • Act as lead auditor or point of contact for external standards audits (e.g. ISO, Kosher, 3rd party etc)
  • Responsible for the internal audit schedule and coordinate internal auditor team.
  • Support the T&RA Manager with regular Quality metrics and performance reporting (e.g. cost of Quality, complaint rate, NCs etc)
  • Play an active role in the technical network, and provide support where needed in the provision of technical data and information to drive a proactive, value added service from the technical function
  • Follow the company initiatives for Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) (e.g. H&S Policy, Golden Rules) and exhibit SHE leadership through own behaviours.

 


What you will bring



  • Degree in Chemistry or similar subject
  • Experience of Quality and Compliance systems, complaint management and root cause investigation
  • QC and analytical data handling
  • ISO lead auditor trained and a Quality Management qualification is desirable as is experience of ISO standards and auditing
  • Awareness of chemical legislation such as CLP, REACH and GHS would be beneficial
  • Practical/proactive problem solver and flexible to support a dynamic, customer driven business.
  • Tenacious, thorough, determined, energetic and driven with attention to detail
  • Well organised and able to assimilate new information quickly and take innovative approach to solve complex queries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, providing both customers and internal stakeholders with clear concise information to provide positive and beneficial interaction.
  • IT literate. Good knowledge of Microsoft. Able to collate data from multiple sources into useable documentation
  • Persuasive, goal orientated and able to follow specific processes and requirements
  • Quality conscious and well organised, able to respond quickly to requests for information or support.
  • Team player and customer orientated.
  • Flexible to be able to work on multiple and varied tasks.
