Manpower are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our client's team at a leading independent company based in Coatbridge, with multiple sites across the central belt of Scotland. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency of the company's vehicle fleet, ensuring all vehicles are serviced, repaired, and kept in optimal condition. Key Responsibilities: Prepare vehicles for annual testing, including delivery to testing stations. Perform scheduled servicing and breakdown repairs on both chassis cabs and auxiliary equipment. Conduct inspections prior to servicing and routine safety checks on vehicles, auxiliary equipment, and plant machinery, including completing all necessary paperwork. Steam clean vehicle parts or units as required before commencing repairs. Attend breakdowns to assess and carry out appropriate repairs on site. Drive departmental vehicles as necessary. Collect vehicle spares and workshop equipment from outside suppliers. Maintain a clean and tidy individual workstation and assist in keeping the communal workshop areas organized. Adapt to new technologies as they are introduced into the company's operations. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required from time to time. Key Requirements: Full driving license with category C. Time-served HGV Technician. Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Previous experience working on tipper, mixer, and block vehicles, as well as associated equipment. Willingness to learn new skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Responsible attitude towards the upkeep of the workshop and equipment. Ability to work to deadlines and manage time efficiently. Strong commitment to safe working practices. Considerable flexibility in working arrangements. Additional Information: The role may require attending breakdowns and carrying out repairs on site, necessitating flexibility and responsiveness. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization within the workshop. Continuous training and adaptation to new technologies will be a key aspect of this role.
