Two divisions – Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids – are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy. About the Role Based in Brisbane and reporting to the Area Manager (Cooper SWQ), this position is responsible for driving risk management, project implementation and process improvement for Cooper SWQ Upstream Operations. This role will support coordination of operational resources and activities to minimise risk and meet production targets.

*** Field travel to Ballera and Jackson is expected every 6 weeks

*** Early start time is required (6am if working in the field and 7:30am of expected in this role.

Key responsibilities of the role include: Developing, advising, recommending, and delivering plans in alignment to the company’s strategy (including operational input to Medium Term Plans (MTPs). Sound understanding of Permit to Work practices to drive Cooper Basin Santos Work Permit Procedure (SWPP) Community of Practice and provide input to Santos Permit to Work. Sound understanding of high-risk work management to provide operational input to Risk Assessments. Collaborate with key stakeholders (operations, maintenance, technical engineering, functional, planning and scheduling) to drive process improvement and ensure consistency of application throughout our operation. Support onboarding of Area Team Leaders and Field. Driving production optimisation and support through MOC (Management of Change). Providing operational input for practical implementation of projects and major activities – including Return to Plans (RTPs), Total Plant Outages (TPOs), and C&FA/major growth projects. Significant collaboration with Cooper SWQ Operations Lead to ensure consistency of process improvement opportunity and implementation across the Cooper Basin. Championing change and fostering performance cultures to achieve desired culture outcomes and engaged team members. Overseeing budget in line with company requirements, identifying and delivering opportunities to reduce costs or improve value. About You You will be experienced in: Operations of hydrocarbon or industry background with management and leadership skills to control work activities and daily operations of facilities. Managing and leading teams of professionals and/or individual contributors preferred but not essential. Have a good understanding of computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS) and risk management. Valid drivers' license. While we ideally seek candidates with a relevant tertiary technical/trade qualification/Process Plant Operations certificate with significant industry experience in oil and gas or similar, it’s the mindset and attributes we are focused on that will be critical to your success.
