Join us at FCC Canada to be part of these groundbreaking projects and advance your career in a dynamic and innovative environment.Project OpportunityWe are looking for Senior Estimators with expertise in the civil specialty, particularly in estimating large infrastructure and transportation projects, and also with previous experience leading a team of 2-5 estimators.The Senior Estimator’s key responsibilities are:Coordinating the Contractor estimate for the Target Price.Collaborating with other teams within the project team, such as the Construction Team, the Environmental Team, or the Survey team, to ensure that the Target Price is produced properly.Participating during the Development Phase in the estimation of changes to the target price.Performing and organizing the works within the Estimating Team, namely, quantity take-offs, preparation of procurement packages, comparison sheets with the information received from suppliers and subcontractors, risk identification, etc.Perform Specialized Civil Engineering estimating tasks such as SOE, ground improvement, dewatering, piling, soil or rock anchors, soil grouting, earthwork, backfill, grading, etc. for all locations, on his or her own and with the help of other estimators.Foster positive relationships with Client, consultants, key subcontractors, and any stakeholders involved in the project.Uphold confidentiality and protect proprietary information.Maintain Estimating data systems to ensure they are up to date.Contribute to project success and learning through effective communication and collaboration.Ensure compliance with Estimating processes and procedures for consistency and accuracy.Adhere to the project's risk management policies and procedures.Education and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.10 years experience of progressive estimating experience in civil construction, track, buildings, or related disciplines with at least 3 years experience in leading the complete estimate for a major capital construction project.Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) is essential.Experience with estimating software, particularly Hard Dollar, is required.Ability to work effectively within a team environment.Strong interpersonal skills for building positive working relationships.Excellent listening and communication skills.Job RequirementsExperience with developing a class 2 estimate according to AACE guidelines.Familiarity with various types of construction contracts, including cost-reimbursable, target, and guaranteed maximum price.Experience working with or applying AACE-recommended practices for risk and contingency development.Experienced in working in large, complex projects/brownfield or greenfield projects.Strong knowledge of Risk and Compliance principles as well as legal regulations.Affinity with technical and commercial terms for contract management.Understanding of site conditions impacting bid costs and constructability.Understanding of the job handover process from estimating to operations.Work EnvironmentFCC Canada Ltd. is dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace where diversity is valued and respected.
