picoTera is developing advanced noise cancellation, communication, and hearing protection systems.We are looking for a talented electrical and computer engineer who can help us develop and debug new products.Prospective applicants should have a solid background in electronic circuits theory and hands-on skills working with oscilloscopes, function generators, and other lab tools.Key skills we are looking for include soldering skills and the ability to debug common hardware issues. This can range from re-soldering a broken switch and improving designs for future releases to diagnosing faulty ICs in malfunctioning hardware. Applicants should be very familiar with the soldering skills needed for SMD components.Another important skill is familiarity with Altium PCB design software. We expect applicants to know how to start from schematic, sync the project to PCB, and create a DRC-free PCB board. Concepts such as libraries, library components, and error-free project compilation should be well understood by candidates for this position.Job requirements and qualifications:Experience working with hardware and electronicsFamiliarity with PCB design and working with Altium DesignerBackground experience with soldering and working with oscilloscopesBackground knowledge of firmware programmingTeamwork and excellent work ethicsAbility to work on-site (in our office)This position may be funded by the Digital Skills for Youth Program.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.All employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business need.
