Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts using SQDC methodology
  • Set targets, initiatives, and accountabilities for Goal Deployment
  • Monitor and manage cost structures to budgetary guidelines
  • Organize, develop, and motivate the workforce for maximum effectiveness
  • Prioritize work based on customer commitments and employee skill level
  • Establish effective communication processes to align with company performance requirements
  • Foster strong relationships with key internal and external customers
  • Provide proactive leadership to create a sense of urgency and embrace positive change
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, manage, and train employees
  • Administer human resource policies and procedures
  • Manage required certifications for the workforce and location

Qualifications:

  • Equivalent experience or a High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Background in railcar inspection and repair preferred
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and managing profit and loss statements preferred
  • Functional knowledge of modern manufacturing/operations techniques preferred
  • Knowledge of railcar maintenance standards is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data
