The PositionUnder the supervision of the Divisional Manager, the Compliance and Implementation Manager is responsible for leadership of the Rights and Title Department. This includes team leadership, staff performance and development, implementation of the shishallh Nation Lands and Resources decision-making policy, management of the engagement process and overseeing the implementation of agreements. The Candidate:Provide leadership for the Rights and Title team, including managing workload, overseeing staff training and development, coaching for performance, and contributing to the development and maintenance of a positive work environment.Work with the Divisional Manager and Rights and Title staff to implement agreements with industry and government. Participate in Implementation and Shared Decision-Making Boards as requested by the Divisional Manager.Manage, plan and coordinate the activities and operations of implementing the shishalh Nation Lands and Resources Decision-Making Policy, including the engagement process and associated archaeology work. Develop information to support community engagement activities. Assist the Divisional Manager with implementing annual long-term strategic directions and goals related to stewardship.Ensure documentation of decisions, including strategic direction, and that goals and objectives are achieved. Develop budgets with the Divisional Manager, manage spending within budget, keep the Divisional Manager informed of revenues or costs that occur or may occur that are not part of the approved budget, and prepare budget reports as requested by the Divisional Manager.Plan the work activities and manage the related budget, including reviewing and approving expenses.Provide recommendations and ensure the Divisional Manager is briefed on all relevant matters.Prepare reports, recommendations, plans, procedures, and background documentation as required on stewardship matters.Perform other duties within the scope of the position, as assigned. Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:B.A. in aboriginal studies, history, or other relevant degree or equivalent years of directly related experience.A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in stewardship, Rights and Title or other relevant area.A minimum of three years of management experience and demonstrated success in leading high-performance teams. Must have administrative capability and relevant work experience, including experience managing multiple projects or a department. Knowledge and historical background of the shíshálh Nation is considered a major asset.Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to write clear and accurate reports.Excellent organizational ability and extensive knowledge of facilitation of meetings.Superior time management skills; ability to assess the dynamics of the community.Ability to be flexible and considerate of differing views of elected officials, community members, other government officials and legal professionals.A valid driver’s license and a clean Criminal Record Check. Behavioural Competencies:Teamwork and Collaboration Coaching for PerformanceConflict ManagementAnalytical ThinkingIntegrityInnovation  Working Conditions:Often dealing with shifting or competing priorities, you may find the environment busy and will need excellent organizational, time management, and stress management skills to complete the required tasks, often within tight deadlines.Sitting for extended periods at a computer workstation.Working hours 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.May be required to work outside normal work hours.
