Job Requirements / Description

Registered nurses with experience in adult or mental health nursing are sought to conduct functional assessments and produce reports to help determine eligibility for benefits.

As a Functional Assessor, you will use your clinical skills in a new way, carrying out assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You'll work on complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out functional assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life
  • Produce factual reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine eligibility for benefits
  • Work on complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders

Requirements:

  • NMC-registered adult or mental health nurse with at least 1 year's broad post-registration experience in the UK
  • Proactive and keen learner with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports
  • Expert clinician experienced in working with a diverse range of conditions, including complex cases and mental health conditions
