Hotel IT Systems Manager

Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Hotel IT Systems Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of information technology systems within the hotel. The Hotel Systems Manager is responsible for handling helpdesk tickets, assisting team members with project delivery and in particular working with the Regional System Manager, managing technology installations and upgrades, and maintaining the overall information technology infrastructure.What’s in it for you:Complete benefit packageRRSP matchingAnnual incentiveEmployee Family Assistance ProgramHotel discounts worldwide!Responsibilities and Duties:Helpdesk Support:Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets promptly.Assist hotel staff with technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, providing timely solutions.Coordinate technology installations, upgrades and maintenance.Project Assistance:Collaborate with Information Technology team members on various projects, including recommending new or replacement hardware and software when necessary.Assist in the implementation and deployment of new IT systems and services.Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements.Remain up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices.System Maintenance:Monitor the daily operations related to server hardware, software and operating systemsEnsure data security, network access, and backup systems.Coordinate regular maintenance tasks, including software updates and patches.Ensure information systems operate effectively by testing, troubleshooting, and modifying as needed.Evaluate technology risks and develop recovery plans as needed.Documentation:Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and procedures.Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference.User Training:Conduct training sessions for hotel staff on IT tools and systems.Promote best practices for efficient and secure technology usage.Ensure all IT activities comply with policies and applicable laws and regulations.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:IT Fundamentals: Understanding of IT principles, terminology, and best practices.Security Awareness: Basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including password management and data protection.Experience working with Microsoft O365, Structured cabling, CCTV, Property Management System, Point of Sale System, Windows server, Windows workstation and payment systemsProblem-Solving: Ability to analyze issues, identify solutions, and implement fixes.Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.Customer Service: Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset, especially if the candidate has worked in a hotel environment.Attention to Detail: Ability to follow procedures accurately and pay attention to small details.Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to team goals.Working Conditions:Normal office working conditions with a hotel office environment.Willingness to work flexible hours as required by project timelines.Occasional business travel required, estimated at around 4-5 weeks per year.SILVERBIRCH HOTELS & RESORTS IS SUPPORTIVE OF WORKFORCE DIVERSITY AND ENCOURAGES APPLICATIONS FROM QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS.SILVERBIRCH HOTELS & RESORTS WELCOMES AND ENCOURAGES APPLICATIONS FROM PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.
