Position : Mechanical Design Engineer / Mechcanical Development Engineer Location : Lincoln Hybrid : No, this is an on-site position Salary : £35,000 - £50,000 Please note : You MUST be a UK national and able to obtain security clearance Role & Responsibilities The Mechancial Design Engineer provides Mechanical design on selected product and system development programmes. Multidisciplinary project teams will be formed per project and the you will typically be working on a number of development projects. You will have general experience in all aspects of Mechanical design including; 3D CAD, manufacturing tolerancing and techniques, design for manufacture and product folder generation Keeping abreast of the latest manufacturing techniques Liaise with suppliers to ensure their proposed designs can be manufactured cost effectively Provide innovative and cost-effective solutions to project mechanical design requirements Development of product mechanical model to support coordination of all aspects of mechanical design, including PCB layout, wiring, connectors Provide informed design decisions supported by understanding of modern manufacturing techniques and tolerancing as well as product environmental requirements Development of mechanical test techniques including design of test fixtures Management of product data pack. Ensure clear and consistent standard of new data packs and maintenance of existing data packs.Lincoln Mechanical Design Engineer Qualifications, Skills & Experience Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Excellent communication skills. Adaptable, with good attention to detail and quality mind-set. Computer literate, using MS platforms such as Excel, Word, Outlook.
