Manager, Transport Compliance

The Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy efficient technologies. INF also regulates electrical and mechanical safety services and licenses individuals and vehicles operating in the territory.This position is responsible for the development of commercial carrier programs and policies to support the Transport Compliance section. This position develops and manages effective highway compliance programs to maintain effective regulations and safe inspection criteria to regulate the safe transportation of goods and the protection of the Northwest Territories highway infrastructure.Typically attained by:A certificate in police sciences, and 5 years’ work experience in traffic enforcement with an accredited enforcement agency or provincial or territorial agency responsible for commercial vehicle compliance, including 1 year supervisory or management experience.Job Opening InformationJob Opening ID # 25713Closing Date: September 30, 2024- 23:59, Mountain TimeSalary InformationThe salary range for this position is from $56.29 per hour to $67.23 per hour (approximately $109,766 - $131,099) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700. #J-18808-Ljbffr
