Transdev is hiring a Health & Safety Coordinator to be located in Ottawa.Your Role:Reporting directly to the Health and Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring our high level of health and safety standards are met by maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Transportation standards including other legislative bodies, in addition to having an in-depth knowledge of Transdev’s Global Policies and Procedures. This role provides direction, support and guidance to all managers, supervisors and employees regarding safety issues or concerns and the successful candidate must be able to travel within Eastern and Northern Ontario.Primary ResponsibilitiesComplianceEnsures compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety ActAssist the Health and Safety Manager with developing and implementing policies as a result of changing legislation or identified trendsMaintains in-depth knowledge of current legislation relating to employment law, WSIB, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights CodeSupports Local JHSC meetings / initiatives and programsEnsures company Contractor complianceAuditsEnsure monthly field audits are completed at each of the locations including facility and field audits, truck audits, etc.Participate with audits as frequently as possibleFollow up with any employee complaints related to health and safety and communicate back to the Health and Safety ManagerCompletes scorecards monthly for all locations/divisionsWSIBAssist the Health and Safety Manager with claims from start to completion; liaison with WSIB case manager to ensure all paperwork and employee updates are completed and submitted on a timely basisOrganize and enter all WSIB documentation into spreadsheetComplete trending related to injury statistics and communicate to managementIncident & Collision Analysis & ReportingEnsures incident and collision reporting is complete and reported in a timely fashion; establishes appropriate follow-upEnter all collision and incident reports into analysis and assist with identifying trends in recent incidents and collisionsYour Profile:You possess a University/College Degree or Equivalent educationYou bring minimum 1-2 years relevant experienceYour experience working in the transportation industry would be preferredYou bring excellent organizational and problem-solving skillsYou possess effective communication skills (both written and verbal)You are available to work flexible hours if required for auditsYou have the ability to travel throughout Eastern and Northern OntarioYou possess strong knowledge in all Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)You possess a minimum full G driver's licenceYou possess a clean Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable SectorYou have proven excellent customer service experienceYou have strong planning and time management skills and the ability to effectively handle a variety of tasks simultaneouslyYour Occupational Health and Safety Certification or working towards this, would be a strong assetYour JHSC Certification or experience would be an assetYou bring First aid, CPR or any other relevant medical trainingYour in-depth knowledge of current legislation relating to employment law: Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workers' Compensation Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, etc. would be an assetThe Perks:We offer comprehensive benefits packages for full-time employees with an Employee and Family Assistance Program, a great company perks program and an Employee Referral Bonus for all staff.
